Fees

Individual & Couples counselling session fees.

 

Fees for home visits are charged based on the fee table below including travel time from our offices (using Google Maps) minus 25%.

Individual Counselling  $170.00 for 1 hour consultation or part thereof
Couples Counselling  $180.00 for 1 hour consultation or part thereof
Additional 30 mins $85.00 or part thereof as we agree reasonable
Assessments & Professional reports Quotes provided upon request

 

Rebates

If you are under a GP Mental Health Treatment Plan and eligible for a Medicare rebate, you will currently receive $86.15 rebate from Medicare per session. Each GP Mental Health Care Plan covers you for six rebated sessions with an additional four sessions available after review by your doctor, making a maximum total of ten sessions in a calendar year.

 

Private Health Insurance

Some private health insurance policies may cover counselling sessions with a psychologist - contact your insurer for details.

 

Payments

Payments can be made by cash, EFTPOS and all major credit cards or in advance via bank transfer.

Cancellation Policy

A cancellation fee of $20 is payable for appointments which are cancelled less than one full business day ahead, for whatever reason.

We understand that changes in circumstances can occur without warning which is why the practitioners at JMA Psychology Canberra also adhere to this policy, meaning that if we need to cancel your appointment and provide you with less than 24 hours’ notice, then a $20 discount will be deducted from the fee at your next appointment.

Clients who accrue two cancellations fees will be asked to pay in advance for their next appointment, with such appointment fees being non-refundable.

Corporate Client Cancellations

Corporate clients using our services through their employer's Employee Assistance Plan (EAP) need to be aware that any cancellations/reschedules/no shows that occur with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged as such to their employer.

 

Bulk Billing

Due to the increasing cost of practice, and the Medicare rebate 'freeze', bulk billing is no longer offered by this practice. However, in extraordinary circumstances of severe financial hardship, we can negotiate a fee which is affordable for you - please have a chat with us before making an appointment.
